In Maker’s Mark Distillery (Loretto, Ky. USA) the first barrel was filled with newly distilled liquor and then laid down to age, later to become Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (1954).

The SALIMA 2000 Fair opened. Among others, a bottle of the Balvenie, Single Barrel Scotch Malt Whisky was introduced. The product was distilled April 27, 1980 and then, put in barrel # 1333 to age until October 6, 1999 and be bottled that same day. The displayed bottle bore the number was 223 and the alcoholic content was 50.4% by volume (2000).
