History in last months

The first and complete guide of the best bars in Prague is released. The guide mainly contains information about some famous restaurants in Prague but it also includes valuable information about other categories in food and beverage services in Prague. Bugsy’s Bar is evaluated here very highly as one of the best bars in the town.

James Terence Web honored our bar with his voice and a show. James played in musical Cats on Broadway. He was a solo singer and dancer in Moulin Rouge in Paris and one of his last presentations was in the musical Chicago in London West End.

The celebration of the 3000th day of the service to our customers was devoted to our regular clients and to our special friends. The next day was devoted to celebrities, politicians, famous beauties and of course the photographers who had an excellent opportunity to document this occasion. There was plenty of food and we selected the best we could offer in the past 3000 days. We expressed grateful thanks to all our guests.

We celebrated the World Cocktail Day for the 5^th time. We started our summer celebration with the drink called Mojito. This celebration took place in our bar and in the Be Bop bar in Radisson hotel where the WCD started. Guests were presented by Mojito passports and after collecting of six stamps of different Mojito drinks they were presented with free drink according to their own choice.

Roger Alison and the wine maker Michael Silacci , two very important members of the world wine association called “Opus One”, honored our bar with their visit.

The Czech edition of magazine Playboy organized public inquiry for the most popular bar in the Czech Republic. The award went to Bugsy's, and finally we would like to thank you all for sending your vote for us. We’ll try our best not to fail you.

Bara Basikova and Simona Krainova celebrated together here their “seventieth” birthday. A lovely present from Yellow Butterfly Daniel Nekonecny.

Halina Pawlovska received her third “Mirror” award in TYTY public inquiry for her Talk Show. She celebrated this occasion with her friends and personnel team in our bar.

The whole cocktail world turned upside down after the opening of the latest movie with James Bond. While visiting Cuba Bond ordered Mojito drink instead of his favorite Vodka Martini. We couldn’t ignore this and immediately introduced a new drink according to the original Cuban recipe called MOJITO 007.

While drinking San Cristobel de la Havana with Mr. Jan Mleziva, we realized that the majordomos of Mister Conk, Otomar Stava, visited our bar at least four times a week since it has been opened. He never had a drop of alcohol in spite the fact that he is not an abstinent. Where is the mistake????

We opened our bar for the first time on the Christmas Eve at nine o’clock. There was no empty place left after forty minutes. It was the idea of our colleagues and the atmosphere was great. The AFTER CARP PARTY was very successful event and of course lively carp was swimming in the aquarium to please our guests.

Our colleague Zdenek Doubek decided to leave our team at Bugsy’s Bar.

Bugsy’s Bar is re-opened after extensive reconstruction due to floods in August 2002.

Bugsy’s Bar took part in the campaign “Paris Street is alive – Aid to the Prague ZOO”. In spite the fact that the reconstruction was still in procedure we managed to open for one day. We welcomed our guests with a glass of French sect and some strawberries. Everybody who stopped by granted a cheque worth 50, - CZK. Believe it or not we managed to collect 345 093, - CZK for Prague ZOO in one day.

Bugsy’s bar renewed its lease and extended it in the shortest negotiation time ever recorded.

Flood from Vltava River reached its peak and 40 hours later water deluged the Bugsy’s bar premises. We were forced to close for 3 months and three days.

Everybody who had free hands and was nearby helped to evacuate the premises of the bar to save as much as possible from the floods. Plenty of sacks full of sand were the only protection from the water.

Mr. Antonin Truhlar, a doyen of the Czech bartenders is a very enthusiastic man. He has participated in many events related to bar business. He celebrated his 80th birthday in Bugsy’s bar with his close friends and was given the title of “The most respected guest” of Bugsy’s Bar.

A newly married famous couple Alena Seredova with her husband Italian actor Edoardo Costo visited our bar after their honeymoon trip to Egypt.

In spite the fact that our bar is absolutely apolitical place there were certain politicians who celebrated their victory in the elections. The ministers Buzkova, Gross, Langer, Tvrdik, and Dostal found our friendly atmosphere the most suitable place for their celebrations.

Without any suspicion about the future horrible time we welcomed the summer with a smile on our face with Caribbean dance rhythm, ice cream and drinks decorated with beautiful and colored flowers.

The American dark blue bottled Sky Vodka entered the business bar world. Our guests appreciated its cool smooth taste and serving with smoked herring was accepted as a special delicatessen

Maria and Hans Hofman, the most regular guests moved to Den Haag. They met in our bar, fell in love, and later married. During their last visit they didn’t drink their favorite Screwdriver but Moet & Chabdin champagne.

Our golden ice hockey champions traditionally came to our place to celebrate and to share their impressions from the championship. No problem this time it was not gold, but they are golden boys anyway.

Mr. Emanuel Yarbrough (USA) visited us after the super final championship at sumo in the Czech Republic. We couldn’t resist taking a photo of our team with this superman height 205 and weighing 305kg. By the way a very polite and pleasant gentleman.

The foundation Duha supporting the integration of mentally retarded people into the community published its yearly report stating that Bugsy’s Bar donated 60 500,- Kc. All the money was collected from the donations of our clients.
